The Book of Acts

Action is what it is all about!  This study moves, showing the action of godly and ungodly folk as they react to the message of Jesus.  The challenge of this study is one of duplicating the enthusiasm and growth of the early church.

 

LEVEL 2 REQUIREMENTS

● Reading:  the entire book of Acts.

● Self-exams in study guide book.

● Memory Work:  19 verses.

     (due at mid-term)  Ac. 2:36-38; 5:29,32; 6:7; 8:4,12,36-38.

     (due at final exam) Ac. 10:34,35; 11:23; 16:5,33; 17:11,30; 20:28.

LEVEL 3 REQUIREMENTS

● Reading:  2 books

     Acts by Dennis Gaertner

     The Holy Spirit of God by Richard Rogers.

● Papers:

     One 7-10-page paper on “The Holy Spirit”

     One 6-10-page paper on “God’s Providence”

● Memory work:  69 verses.

     (due at mid-term) Ac. 2:14-16,22-24,32-33,36-41; Rom. 8:9-11; 1Cor. 3:16; 6:19;

          Ac. 3:18,24-26; 4:13,19-20,32; 5:29,41-42; 6:7; 8:4,12,22,32-33,38; 10:34-35.

     (due at final exam) Ac. 10:47-48; 11:17,23; 13:48; 16:5,28-34; 17:11,24-31; 20:28-35.

● Tests

     Complete all “Self-Exam” questions in the study guide

     Mid-term exam

     Final Exam

 

● Grading Scale:

     Reading = 10%

     Memory work = 10%

     Research papers =20%

     Mid-term and final exams = 60%
