Philippians |

Philippians is a love letter written to a church that loved and provided for the man who brought the gospel to them. Even though in prison, Paul encourages the church to serve God honestly and joyfully and offers himself as an example of Christian living in adversity.
LEVEL 2 REQUIREMENTS ● Reading: The book of Philippians 3 times. ● Memory Work: 16 verses. (due at mid-term) Phil. 1:20,21; 3:8-12. (due at final exam) Phil. 2:5-8; 4:6-8,11-12. ● Exams: Mid-term (after lesson 6). Final (at the end of the study). ● Grading Scale: Reading = 10% Memory work = 10% Two Exams = 80%
LEVEL 3 REQUIREMENTS ● Reading: The book of Philippians 6 times. Philippians, Colossians & Philemon by Anthony Ash. ● Papers: Review Anthony Ash’s book at write a 3-page evaluation. A 5-page commentary on Phil. 2:5-11 (dealing thoroughly with verses 6&7). ● Memory work: (due at mid-term) Phil. 1:9-11; 2:5-11; 3:10,11,12-14. (due at final exam) Phil. 3:20,21; 4:4-9,11-19. ● Exams: Mid-term (after lesson 6) & Final Exam (at the end of the study). ● Grading Scale: Readings and evaluation paper = 10% Memory verses = 10% Writing assignment = 10% Mid-term and final exams = 70% |
